China announces key areas of enterprise standards “Top Runner” for FY2022

On June 1, 2022, the State Administration for Market Regulation of China announced key areas of enterprise standards “Top Runner” for FY2022. Key areas of this year have been further increased from 202 in FY2021 to 240, with the addition of areas such as biomass fuels and sealing materials. The enterprise standard "Top Runner" system has been implemented since 2018 with the aim of raising the overall quality level of products and services by creating "Top Runner" standards that are competitive at the world top level, mainly in the areas of consumer goods manufacturing and equipment manufacturing. According to the "Opinions on the Implementation of the Enterprise Standards 'Top Runner' System" promulgated in 2018 by the State Administration for Market Regulation and 7 other departments, the enterprises selected as enterprise standards "Top Runner" will be subject to evaluation and selection for quality awards by all levels of governments and will be given priority in government procurement.
