Singapore Considering Proposal to Add Consumer-Imported Electrical Products for Personal Use to MEPS Regulations

On January 12, 2026, Singapore launched a public consultation proposing to include products imported by consumers for their own personal use under the country’s energy-efficiency product regulations. The consultation will remain open until January 25, 2026. Products subject to the Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) and the Mandatory Energy Labelling Scheme (MELS) are defined under the Energy Conservation (Prescribed Regulated Goods) Order 2017.
