On July 31, 2024, the Singapore National Environment Agency (NEA) designated Beverage Container Return Scheme Ltd. (BCRS Ltd.) as the operating entity of the deposit system for beverage containers. In order to give further preparation time to BCRS Ltd. and beverage producers and retailers, it was announced that the start date of the system would be postponed for one year from April 1, 2025, which was originally announced, to April 1, 2026.
