Singapore promulgates detailed regulations on implementation of carrier bag charging

The Resource Sustainability (Disposable Carrier Bag Charge) Regulations 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the Regulations) were promulgated in Singapore on May 25, 2023. Under the Resource Sustainability (Amendment) Act 2023 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”), the Regulations specify detailed requirements for implementing charges for disposable carrier bags (hereinafter referred to as “carrier bags”) in supermarkets.
