Taiwan to make amendments to the “Labelling Standard for Electrical Appliances and Electronic Goods”

On August 12, 2022, the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan announced a partial amendment to the “Labelling standard for electrical appliances and electrical goods” and released the amendment draft. The comment period will be 60 days after the release date of the amendment draft. The standard, which was formulated in accordance with the Article 11 of the “Commodity Labeling Act”, classifies electrical appliances and electronic goods into 3 categories: hardware products, software products, and components and consumables, and specifies the items shall be labeled and labeling methods for each category. According to the current plan, the amended standard is expected to come into force on May 18, 2023.
