Taiwan FDA adds nine ingredients that are prohibited for use in cosmetics

On March 21, 2024, the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration announced the amendment to the “List of ingredients that are prohibited for use in cosmetics”. The list was made based on the Article 6, Paragraph 1 of the “Cosmetic hygiene and safety act”. Cosmetics that contain ingredients listed in the list are prohibited to import, manufacture, sell, supply, or display for the purpose of sale or supply. Apart from newly adding nine ingredients to the list, the amendment also added exemptions for the use of ingredient of “cells, tissues or products of human origin”.
