Taiwan adds hazardous substance containment limits for recycled plastics to Green Mark standards of 14 EEE

On March 6, 2024, the Ministry of Environment of Taiwan published 14 amended Green Mark standards for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), including printer, computer and ink cartridge. The containment limits for hazardous substances such as cadmium and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and their reference test methods for recycled plastics used in EEE are added in the amended standards. The Green Mark system in Taiwan is a voluntary system introduced in accordance with the Eco Marks in the EU and Japan. Products that comply with the Green Mark standards and are approved to use the mark are eligible for the priority purchase items of government green procurement.
