Taiwan adds export provisions for waste thermoplastics

On November 8, 2023, the Ministry of Environment of Taiwan announced a partial amendment to the Notice “Industrial waste classified as industrial materials”, export provisions for waste thermoplastics are added. According to the Article 38 (1) of the “Waste Disposal Act”, before importing/exporting industrial waste, a permit must be obtained from the competent authority, however, waste that is categorized as industrial raw material by the central competent authority after consultation with the industrial competent authority is not subject to this provision.
