The Ministry of Environment (MOE) of South Korea issues draft amendment of the Regulations on the Stipulated Quantities for Toxic Substances, Restricted Substances, Prohibited Substances and Substances Subject to Authorization (MOE Notification No. 2021-51) and invited comments on the draft for the period from June 1 to 21, 2021.
The Regulations are subordinate to the Chemicals Control Act. The aim of the amendment is to differentiate the levels of implementation of Chemical Accident Prevention Management Plans mandated under the Act, by providing the upper and lower stipulated quantities for newly designated and planned toxic substances under the NIER Notification No. 2021-17: Notice on Designation of Toxic Substances, NIER Notification No. 2021-94: Administrative Announcement on Partial Amendment of the Notice on Designation of Toxic Substances.
