South Korea’s Environmental Research Institute extends deferred approval period for existing biocidal substances

On November 23, 2023, the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) operating under the Ministry of Environment (MOE) of South Korea announced that the deferred approval period for 138 existing biocidal substances mainly used in "disinfectants, algicides, rodenticides, insecticides, repellents, etc. (hereinafter "disinfectants, etc.")" will be adjusted from “until December 31, 2022” to “until December 31, 2023.” It also announced that another 108 substances will be added to the list of existing biocidal substances and their deferred approval period will be set to “until December 31, 2023.”
