South Korea’s Ministry of Environment proposes amendments to require certification for imports of emission reduction equipment

On October 26, 2023, the Ministry of Environment (MOE) of South Korea issued two public notices proposing new amendments to the Enforcement Order and the Enforcement Rules of the Clean Air Conservation Act, announcing that stating that from February 17, 2024, imports of emission reduction equipment, low-emission engines, or idle stop & go (ISG) systems would also be subject to mandatory acquisition of certification.
