South Korea discloses hazards of new chemicals manufactured or imported pursuant to Occupational Safety Act

On September 26, 2023, the Ministry of Employment and Labor of South Korea disclosed the names, hazards, risks, and related precautions for workers of 55 new chemical substances that were manufactured or imported from July to September 2023. The ministry also stated that it has ordered manufacturers and importers of these chemicals to take precautionary measures for their employees.

In South Korea, in accordance with Article 108 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), which was amended and promulgated on August 8, 2023, the Hazard and Risk Investigation Program for New Chemical Substances has been implemented targeting companies that manufacture or import new chemical substances, as follows.
