Malaysia releases draft standard for architectural coatings to solicit public comments

On June 1, 2022, the Malaysian government released a draft standard called “Architectural Coatings – General Requirements”. The draft standard sets out general requirements for retailed architectural coatings used on the interior and exterior surfaces of buildings. It covers paints, varnishes and stains for architectural purposes, including those supplied in the form of a single-pack, multi-pack or aerosol dispenser. The standard would apply to both solvent-based and water-based coatings.
