Malaysia plans to revise prohibited substances under Occupational Health and Safety Act

The draft Occupational Health and Safety (Prohibition of Use of Substances) Order 202X was released in Malaysia on December 24, 2021 for public comment. This draft amends the current Occupational Health and Safety (Prohibition of Use of Substances) Order 1999 to newly add some substances. Article 35 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 stipulates that “the use of substances likely to affect the safety and health of workers must be prohibited”.
