On October 18, 2022, the Korea Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy published an amended version of the “Act on the Control of Manufacture of Specific Substances for the Protection of the Ozone Layer” in order to implement regulations to reduce consumption (production and imports minus exports) of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) even inside the country under the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
