Korea to amend information provision requirements of K-REACH

On October 18, 2022, the Ministry of Environment of South Korea issued a public notice (No. 2022-567) stating that in regard to the “Obligation to Provide Information on Chemical Substances” stipulated in the “Act on Registration and Evaluation, etc. of Chemicals (K-REACH)”, the Ministry had formulated a draft amendment to the “Provisions on Approval of Chemicals to be Excluded from Information on Chemical Substance Safety”, a sub-decree of K-REACH, so that if there is any information that has received “approval to keep trade secrets confidential” in accordance with other laws, the registration and approval number of the chemical substance can also be kept confidential.
