Korea eases burden on operators under evaluation of environmental management levels at business establishments system

On October 7, 2022, the Ministry of Environment of South Korea partially amended and enforced the Notification on the Evaluation Methods of Environmental Management Levels at Business Establishments. The main contents are: (1) to change the “evaluation of environmental management levels” to be conducted only when a business establishment wishes to do so, and (2) to make the evaluation more objective by subdividing and scoring the evaluation criteria for quantitative indicators, and add qualitative indicators.
