Korea issues draft amendment to Eco-label Target Products and Certification Criteria

On May 31, 2022, the Ministry of Environment of South Korea published a draft amendment to Eco-label Target Products and Certification Criteria. The Ministry of Environment explained that it has developed this amendment as a regular revision of the certification criteria in accordance with national environmental policies. The amendment adds six products to the target of premium certification system: laptop computers, monitors, detergents, shampoo, conditioner, and clothing, and also strengthens the general certification criteria for these products. The proposed amendment is scheduled to undergo review at a session of the National Assembly after a public comment period from May 31 to June 21, 2022.
