South Korea eases certification management burden for companies holding Good Recycled (GR) product certification

On January 22, 2024, the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS), an agency operating under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea, revised and officially notified the Guidelines for Good Recycled Product Certification with the aim of 1) reducing the administrative burden of companies holding Good Recycled (GR) product certification and 2) significantly simplifying the procedures for new certification applications. The GR product certification is a system that evaluates and recognizes the use of recycled materials, product quality, quality management system, etc., and grants GR certification to recycled products with excellent quality. This certification aims to support companies’ effort for expanding sales channels.
