South Korea to enforce voluntary rules on labeling of use ratio of recycled raw material

From December 12, 2023 to January 2, 2024, the Ministry of Environment of South Korea issued a preliminary legislative notice on the Standards and Methods for Labeling of Use Ratio of Recycled Raw Materials. The purpose of this legislation is to provide details on the calculation method for the use ratio, which means the percentage of recycled raw materials used in a product or container, and standards for labeling thereof in accordance with Article 33-2 of the Act on the Promotion of Saving and Recycling of Resources (hereinafter "the Act") and Article 23-3 of the Enforcement Rules of the same Act (hereinafter "the Enforcement Rules"). It sets forth rules on the target products and labeling including design and method.

The standards and methods for labeling the use ratio of recycled raw materials are as follows.
