South Korean Environmental Ministry pre-announces draft Notice on Designation of Circular Resources to exempt seven items from waste regulations

The Ministry of Environment of South Korea is holding a 20-day a preliminary legislative notice from October 31, 2023 to November 20, 2023 on the proposal of the Notice on the Designation of Circular Resources, etc. to designate seven items, including used batteries of electric vehicles and used iron, among wastes with low hazard and high economic feasibility as exempted items from related regulations. The term "circular resources" refers to designated wastes that are not harmful to human health and to the environment; have economic value and can be traded commercially: and are unlikely to be abandoned.
