South Korea to newly introduce and strengthen energy efficiency standards for 11 electrical appliances

On May 10, 2023, the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) announced that it will raise energy efficiency standards for four items, namely electric hot and cold water dispensers, air cleaners, dehumidifiers, and set-top boxes, and also add three new items, namely dish washers, portable air conditioners, and large-capacity clothes dryers, to the list of target products of the energy efficiency grading scheme.
