Malaysia Releases Guidelines for Voluntary Water Efficient Products Labeling Scheme Revision 8

On April 12, 2022, Malaysia released the “Guidelines for Voluntary Water Efficient Products Labeling Scheme Revision 8.” This system (WEPLS) is a voluntary system aimed at the dissemination of water-saving products, and is managed by Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN) (National Water Services Commission) of Malaysia. Products that meet the predetermined water consumption standards can be registered with SPAN, and a water efficient label graded at three levels can be affixed. The target products are five items: faucets, toilets, urinals, washing machines, and shower heads.
