Malaysia Publishes Eco Label Standard for Recycled Plastic Products

SIRIM (Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia) published an industrial standard, “SIRIM ECO 018:2024 Eco-labelling criteria -Recycled plastic products” on February 16, 2024.

This standard establishes eco-labeling requirements for recycled plastic products, including food contact packaging, and specifies specific environmental requirements such as hazardous substance content, use of recycled materials, labeling, and packaging. Compliance with this standard is voluntary, but businesses that comply with the requirements and complete the necessary procedures may display the SIRIM eco-label (see below)
