Malaysia Drafts Personal Protective Equipment Regulations for Workplaces

On February 16, 2024, the Malaysian Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) published the draft Occupational Safety and Health (Personal Protective Equipment at Place of Work) Regulations 202X. and is seeking public comment until March 8, 2024. The draft Regulation primarily sets forth obligations of employers to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) at the workplace, which also includes provisions regarding producers and distributors of personal protective equipment. Once the draft regulation is officially published, a one-year grace period will be granted from the date of publication before it takes effect.
