New South Wales Publishes “Plastic Plan 2.0” to Reduce Plastic Waste

On November 9, 2025, the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) of New South Wales, Australia, released the NSW Plastic Plan 2.0. This plan was developed based on the NSW Plastics Action Plan, which the NSW government published in June 2021. It sets out phased measures to be implemented between 2026 and 2030 to reduce plastic waste. To carry out measures such as the phased out of unnecessary plastics and the adoption of recyclable product design, the government intends to establish several regulations and stewardship schemes by 2030.
