Safe Work Australia explains the principles that apply to work health and safety duties

On June 1, 2023, Safe Work Australia issued a fact sheet on the principles that apply to Australia's Work Health and Safety Act (Model WHS Act). The Model WHS Act sets out the principles that apply to all work health and safety duties under the Act. These include the main duties for a “Person conducting a business or undertaking” (PCBU) to ensure the health and safety of workers engaged in the activities of enterprises and businesses and other people who may be affected by the performance of their work.
