Korea amends Noise and Vibration Control Act to revise noise management system for two-wheeled vehicles

On December 30, 2022, the Korean Government published the amended Noise and Vibration Control Act (Act No. 19150), which is scheduled to come into effect on July 1, 2023. Although the Government has continuously cracked down on two-wheeled vehicles with illegal exhaust tunings, the current law has limits in terms of cracking down on illegal modifications to noise-proofing devices for two-wheeled vehicles that zoom around residential areas making a great deal of noise.
