The table below shows the scope of the regulations and the sewerage charges.

  • Domestic premises (First Schedule)
  • Commercial premises (Second Schedule)
  • Government premises (Third Schedule)
  • Industrial premises (Fourth Schedule)

Of these, the charges for industrial premises are shown below. The amount to be paid depends on the number of workers.

Category Charge per worker (RM/per month)

Desludging services 2.00

Desludging services are implemented every 2 or 3 years for each premises based on the Water Services Industry (Desludging Services) Regulations 2021. However, companies who wish to implement additional desludging will need to pay RM192 per case as stipulated in Schedule 6 of the regulations. The Water Services Industry (Desludging Services) Regulations 2021 require sewage service providers such as Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd (IWK), the national sewerage company, to periodically perform desludging work at premises that own septic tanks.

When selling or transferring a premises, the sewerage user must pay the above sewerage charges unless they notify the sewerage service provider in advance.
