On July 18, 2022, the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) of Malaysia promulgated the Guidelines for Control of Cosmetic Products in Malaysia — Second Edition (hereinafter “Guidelines”). The Guidelines will come into effect on August 1, 2022. The Guidelines will replace the first edition (the first revision) of the Guidelines promulgated in 2017 with fully revised Annex I, which details requirements for each of items controlled under the Guidelines. The major revisions include: more detailed provisions on product benefit claims and the addition of new provisions on product recalls.
