Malaysia publishes industrial standard on ESG management systems

On August 11, 2023, a Malaysian industrial standard, “SIRIM 55:2023 Environmental, Social and Governance management systems - Requirements with guidance” has been published in the SIRIM website. This standard provides guidance for implementing and improving environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives within an organization. The standard was developed by the Malaysian Institute of Standards and Industry (SIRIM) and references various international standards (e.g., ISO 14001) and frameworks (e.g., GRI standards) related to ESG and sustainability in its development.
