“Long-chain perfluorocarboxylic acids” or “their salts” means a homologous series of substances with the molecular formula of C_nF_2n+1COOH (where 8 ≤ n ≤ 20)

“Related compounds” means any substance that is a precursor and may transform to long-chain perfluorocarboxylic acids, where the perfluorinated alkyl moiety—

(a) has the formula C_nF_2n+1 (where 8 ≤ n ≤ 20); and

(b) is directly bonded to any chemical moiety other than a fluorine, chlorine, or bromine atom

“Long-chain perfluorocarboxylic acids, their salts, and related compounds” does not include perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts, and PFOA-related compounds as listed in this Schedule

(i) sealants:

(iv) inks:

(v) textiles:

(vi) photographic materials:

(vii) lubricants:

(viii) paper and paperboard:

(ix) plastics and rubbers:

(xi) semiconductors

“Medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs)” means substances that contain either or both of the following:

(a) linear chloroalkanes with carbon chain lengths in the range C_14–17 and chlorination levels at or exceeding 45% chlorine by weight:

(b) linear C_14–17 chloroalkanes of the molecular formula C₁₄H_(30−y)Cl_y (where y ≥ 5), C₁₅H_(32−y)Cl_y (where y ≥ 5), C₁₆H_(34−y)Cl_y (where y ≥ 6), or C₁₇H_(36−y)Cl_y (where y ≥ 6)

Unintentional trace contaminants of medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs) in products or articles are persistent organic pollutants if the total concentration of linear C_14–17 chloroalkanes, of any of the molecular formulae in paragraph (b) of the above definition, in substances in those products or articles is greater than 3% by weight

(i) construction sector (other than flooring in indoor spaces that are not used for commercial purposes), including maintenance of buildings and other structures:

(ii) wires and cables in the construction sector:

(iii) wires and cables in medical devices and in-vitro diagnostic devices:

(iv) calendered films in the packaging field, excluding food packaging:

(i) polysulfide sealant and 1-component polyurethane foam used in sealing for doors and windows:

(ii) waterproof coatings and anticorrosion coatings:

(iii) aerospace and defence applications (for example, polyurethane adhesives and tamper-proof putty):

(i) metalworking fluids, if that use is in accordance with paragraph 5 of Part XIII of Annex A of the Stockholm Convention:

(i) adhesives:

(ii) sealants:

(iii) paints:

(iv) coatings:

(v) textiles and leather:

(vi) elastomeric foam:

(vii) plastics and rubbers:

(viii) cables and wires:

(ix) pyrotechnic devices
