South Korea moves to ease waste import restrictions

South Korea's Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment (MCEE) issued an advance administrative notice of a new draft amendment to the Notice on Waste Items Subject to Import Restrictions to Promote Domestic Waste Recycling. Issued under Article 19 of the Act on the Transboundary Movement of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal, the proposal is intended to support stability in the domestic recycling industry and address implementation gaps.
