South Korea promulgates partial amendment to the Occupational Safety and Health Act

On February 19, 2026, South Korea promulgated a partial amendment to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, which is scheduled to take effect on June 1, 2026. The amendment requires major companies and public institutions to publicly disclose, on an annual basis, occupational safety and health information, including information on their occupational safety and health management systems and the status of industrial accidents. It also aims to strengthen the prevention of industrial accidents by invigorating the honorary occupational safety inspector system, improving the risk assessment system, expanding investigations into the causes of industrial accidents, and introducing a system for the public disclosure of investigation results.
