South Korea’s National Assembly considers introducing “Products of Environmental Concern” regime

On January 22, 2026, the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea announced that it is reviewing a proposed amendment to the Act on the Promotion of Saving and Recycling of Resources. The proposed amendment would introduce a new regulatory framework aimed at addressing environmental burdens arising from single-use product, a product category not fully covered under the current system.
