Korea revises BPR Act introducing corrective orders and extending safety-confirmation validity

On November 11, 2025, the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment of the Republic of Korea announced the promulgation of an amendment to the Consumer Chemical Products and Biocides Safety Act, as known as the Korean BPR (hereinafter “K-BPR”), which will take effect on May 12, 2026. The amendment aims to differentiate administrative measures to be taken for violations of provisions of K-BPR according to the severity of violations, and to enhance the effectiveness of the safety control under the K-BPR.
