South Korea: Ministry of Environment to revise eco-Label certification criteria by adding target products

On August 30, 2023, the Ministry of Environment (MOE) of South Korea announced a draft amendment to the Eco-label Target Products and Certification Criteria (MOE Notice No. 2023-504). The proposed amendment, which has been developed as part of national policies on carbon neutrality and resource recycling, adds some daily supply products to the list of target products and expands the range of premium certified products. It also aims to revise the certification criteria for environmental labels for 93 products included in the list.

The MOE currently implements the Eco-label Certification System in accordance with the criteria. The table below gives outline of the certification system.
