On June 20, 2023, the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER), an agency belonging to the Ministry of Environment of South Korea announced that it planned to designate three highly hazardous chemicals as toxic substances from among chemicals of which toxicity test has been completed pursuant to the Act on Registration, Evaluation, etc. of Chemicals.
